Career Journey
Dan’s construction career began as a student at Grand Valley State University, working part-time as a laborer. After graduating, he became a self-employed carpenter focusing on residential projects before moving into commercial general trades work in 2002. By 25, Dan was leading crews and estimating projects.

Because of his impressive framing skills, Dan joined EV Construction in 2010 as a carpenter. His dedication quickly paid off, landing him the role of field manager by 2013, and by 2019, he was promoted to senior field manager. Dan’s been a key player in some major projects, including the Metro Health project, Mercy Health Hospital in Muskegon, and the Clark on Keller Lake senior living project.

Dan leads by carefully listening and taking a thoughtful approach to solving problems. He’s approachable and friendly, always respecting others’ input, which makes him a great leader on the job site. Dan plays a key role in EV Construction’s Field Leadership Team, always looking to improve industry practices. He’s been part of MiCareerQuest, hosted WMCI students for job shadowing, and loves getting involved in community projects like Habitat for Humanity and volunteering in Guatemala.
