John Kwekel’s career as a glazier began in 1985, immediately following his graduation from high school. Joining Vos Glass, he quickly demonstrated an exceptional work ethic, technical aptitude, and leadership potential—qualities that would come to define his 40-year journey in the glazing trade. Early in his career, John was promoted to foreman, where he carefully and effectively oversaw projects. By 2001, he ascended to the position of superintendent, taking charge of some of the company’s largest and most intricate projects.
One of John’s standout professional achievements came in 2017 when he played a pivotal role in launching Vos Glass’s Facilities Service Group (FSG). This initiative expanded the company’s capabilities into the design/build facilities market, and under John’s leadership, the division now completes over 150 projects annually with a dedicated team of 10 professionals. Among the many high-profile projects John has overseen, the 20 Fulton and Burton #3 installations are shining examples of his expertise, meticulous planning, and commitment to excellence. Even personal challenges, such as a courageous battle with cancer in 2014, have not deterred John’s drive and resolve. Now cancer-free, he continues to inspire those around him with his resilience and determination.
