Bethany Stover
Communication and Relationship Manager
Triangle Associates
Meet Bethany Stover! She’s been nominated for ABC’s prestigious Young Professional of the Year award, and it’s no surprise why. Bethany’s all about collaboration, mentorship, and making a difference—not just in the construction industry, but in her community too.
Building Connections Through Communication and Leadership
Bethany is Triangle Associates’ Communication and Relationship Manager, and her job is all about building trust and strong connections, both within the company and with external partners. She truly gets the importance of relationships, not just between professionals, but also between people and the values that keep the construction industry moving forward.
Back in 2017, Bethany and seven like-minded peers came together with a big idea—to create the ABC Western Michigan Young Professionals group. They wanted a space where professionals under 40 could connect, learn, and give back to their communities. The group focused on building relationships, sharing knowledge, and making a difference. What started as a small gathering has grown into a thriving network, all thanks to the work Bethany and the original crew put in.
Mentorship and Advocacy for Women in Construction
One of Bethany’s deepest passions is lifting others, especially women, as they enter the construction workforce. She is committed to creating opportunities that help more women find a place at the table and amplify their voices in the construction industry.
Bethany’s own growth has been guided by strong female mentors who instilled in her key lessons about confidence, empathy, and leadership. She’s now committed to passing those lessons on to others. She empowers women to embrace their talents and lead with confidence, cultivating a supportive space where achievements are celebrated and potential is fully realized.
Leading Safety with Care and Innovation
Safety isn’t just a priority for Bethany; it’s a personal commitment. Through initiatives like co-creating the award-winning 6WISE Safety Program at a previous role, Bethany redefined how safety is communicated and internalized by workers.
The 6WISE program introduced a thoughtful approach to safety, asking employees to identify their “6th Why”—the personal reasons they commit to safety daily, such as family, passions, and future goals. Employees’ families contributed personal photos that were turned into hard hat stickers, creating a daily reminder of why safety matters. This program created emotional connections and sparked meaningful conversations on jobsites, leaving an indelible mark on team culture.
At Triangle Associates, Bethany carries forward this same passion for safety. Her efforts to support robust communication around safety protocols, toolbox talks, and training reflect her dedication to protecting her team and her clients’ interests. Her ability to connect safety to the heart of every project shows her care for not just the work but for the people behind it.
Advancing ABC’s Vision and Values
Bethany is a firm supporter of the merit shop philosophy and ABC’s commitment to free enterprise. She believes success should be built on hard work, talent, and dedication, not mandates or favoritism.
Her passion for growing the next generation of construction leaders drives her involvement in student outreach. From job shadows and classroom visits to leading construction jobsite tours for teachers, Bethany ensures no opportunity is missed to showcase what a career in construction can offer. Her efforts have even inspired educators to transition into the field, opening doors for even more individuals to join and contribute to the industry.
Commitment to Community Engagement
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Bethany is deeply rooted in her community. She serves as the President of the Kenowa Hills Education Foundation, where she organizes initiatives that enrich classrooms and inspire creativity. From hosting district-wide events to planning the city’s first “Safety Town” summer camp for kids, Bethany’s contributions reflect her love for family, education, and empowering others.
Through Triangle Associates, she helps lead impactful programs like Building Up, which gives employees paid volunteer time, and “If You Give A Child A Book,” which promotes literacy by building home libraries for Grand Rapids Public School students.
A Nomination Well-Deserved
Bethany Stover’s story is one of vision, resilience, and commitment to improving the construction industry for everyone. Her dedication to mentorship, safety, and community development makes her a deserving nominee for ABC’s Young Professional of the Year award.
