Kyle focuses on building strong relationships and helping others succeed, showing what it means to be a leader who sees success as a team effort. It’s no surprise that he was nominated for the ABC Western Michigan Young Professional of the Year award.
A Journey of Growth and Achievement
Kyle’s career in construction can be summed up in one word: purpose. Right from the start, he wasn’t just looking to build a career—he wanted to create something meaningful that makes a difference. Now, as an Account Manager at Pleune, Kyle has built solid relationships, both within the company and across the industry.
Kyle’s professional success stems from his focus on contributing to something larger than himself. Whether strengthening Pleune’s visibility in the industry, building partnerships that advance the company’s mission, or mentoring his peers, Kyle is a prime example of a leader who works not for accolades but for lasting impact. He carries with him a mindset rooted in a favorite quote, “A society grows great when people plant trees in whose shade they will never sit.”
A Commitment to Personal and Professional Development
Kyle is incredibly committed to growing and improving professionally. For the past five years, he’s been exploring different ways to grow—whether through leadership programs or getting involved in the community.
Through his participation in ABC Western Michigan’s Emerging Leaders Peer Group, Kyle collaborates with some of the industry’s most passionate emerging leaders. This experience has allowed him to refine his leadership abilities while contributing to the program’s mission of shaping future construction leaders.
His development doesn’t end there. Kyle is active in multiple professional organizations, including IFMA and BOMA, where he seizes every opportunity for growth. He also participates in local initiatives, such as serving on advisory boards for high school programs that promote trades-focused education.
Kyle’s determination shows in his academic achievements, too. While working full-time, he managed to earn his MBA, further demonstrating his commitment to personal and professional growth.
These pursuits highlight Kyle’s belief that personal and professional growth go hand in hand. Whether striving for new physical feats, such as completing a 25k race, or taking ownership of his mental health and overcoming personal challenges, Kyle continues to model what it means to embody self-improvement.
This philosophy drives his passion for leaving things better than he found them, a principle that underscores both his professional and community involvement.
Advocating for Community and Mentorship
Outside of work, Kyle is all about giving back to his community. He’s active on the boards of organizations like Paws With A Cause and In The Image, where he’s taken on leadership roles as Vice Chair and Finance Chair.
Kyle’s philosophy of service is rooted in the belief that great leaders are also great community leaders. He channels his passion into causes that resonate with him while creating meaningful opportunities for collaboration and growth.
One of Kyle’s notable contributions has been his significant involvement with the West Michigan Construction Institute (WMCI). From serving on the Rally Planning Committee to volunteering at events like the Summer Camp, Kyle’s dedication to WMCI reflects his commitment to growing the next generation of leaders in the trades. The connections he fosters between WMCI and businesses demonstrate his ability to turn ideas into action, creating lasting value.
Kyle also carries forward ABC’s mission through his advocacy for the merit shop philosophy. His active engagement with the Grand Rapids Chamber PAC has enabled him to support candidates whose principles align with ABC’s ideals. By channeling his passion for politics into initiatives that benefit the construction industry, Kyle ensures that the values of free enterprise and open competition remain strong.
